OnPage AI Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how OnPage AI ("the app", "we") processes personal data when a Shopify store uses the app.

What information we collect through Shopify's APIs

- The store's basic shop information (shop domain, plan) needed to operate the app.
- Product and collection data (titles, descriptions, prices, availability) used to generate accurate answers.

What information we collect directly from the merchant

- Contact details are not required to use the app beyond the merchant's Shopify account.
- Training content the merchant enters (business information, shipping and returns policy, sizing guidance, etc.) to customize the AI's answers.

What we collect about the merchant's customers

- Questions that store visitors type into the AI assistant on product, collection, and homepage pages.
- Which page the question was asked on and which products were referenced in the answer.
- Whether a question led to a product being added to the cart, used only in aggregate for conversion insights — we do not log the visitor's identity.
- We do not use cookies or other tracking technology to follow visitors across sessions or pages.

How we use this information

- To generate a relevant, accurate answer to the visitor's question.
- To give the store owner insight into frequently asked questions and their impact on sales, via the OnPage AI dashboard.
- To improve the functionality and reliability of the app.
- We do not use this information for any purpose beyond providing the app's services.

Data retention

Question and answer logs are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Training content entered by the merchant is retained for as long as the app is installed on their store, and deleted upon uninstall.

Where data is processed

We are based in the Netherlands (European Union). Questions are processed using Anthropic's Claude AI models to generate an answer; this processing may take place outside the European Economic Area, under Anthropic's standard data processing terms. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models, and we do not sell or share visitor data with any other third party.
